Adjunct Solidarity in Pittsburgh

AFT members are sending messages of support to Adjuncts United in the Pittsburgh area.  By the middle of July, members of Adjuncts United, the part-time faculty organizing campaign at the Community College of Allegheny, will learn if they will have union representation.  About 800 part-time faculty are mailing in ballots to decide if they will join AFT local 2067, which already represents full-time faculty and professional staff on the eight campuses of the Pittsburgh-area college. Together, the part-time and full-time faculty teach almost 50,000 students and Adjuncts United has dedicated their organizing campaign to improving the conditions for part-time faculty so that they can better serve students.
